Gs-441524 Tablets for feline infectious peritonitis(FIP & FIPV)
Usage and Dosage
The capsules and tablets contain the same active ingredient, but the tablets are formulated to allow for more precise dosing based on weight. One capsule is equivalent to two tablets.
- For wet or dry FIP, administer one tablet every 24 hours for every 2.2 lbs of body weight.
- For ocular/neurological symptoms, administer two tablets every 24 hours for every 2.2 lbs of body weight.
For example, a cat weighing 4.4 lbs with wet or dry FIP only should be given 2 tablets per day. If the same cat has wet ocular or neurological FIP, he should be given 4 tablets per day.
It is also recommended to monitor your cat's weight regularly and adjust the dosage as needed weekly.
To administer the pills, give all of them at once every day, preferably at the same time. If you are administering six or more pills, you can split them in half in the morning and half in the evening. It is recommended to give the pills on an empty stomach or 2 hours after a meal. The pills can be given as a whole directly into the cat's mouth using a pills shooter or pills pocket. Alternatively, you can open the capsules or crush the tablets and mix the powder with a small amount of water and wet food. Do not mix with the entire meal. You can offer food to your cat 1-2 hours after giving the pills.
