My cat Smitty is very debilitated with what we presume is Wet FIP. We started his journey with 5 days of the injectable form and have now switched to the oral form. The pills are very easy to administer and Smitty is showing improvement after just one week! The pictures are day 1 and day 7.
My cat Smitty is one week into his FIP treatment and he is showing signs of improving. He is eating better, has more energy, and is more social. We started with 5 days of injectable and have now transitioned to the oral form. We decided to add the probiotics and liver supplement based on recommendations from the treatment protocol. He will not eat if I add the probiotics to his food, I don't really blame him as they smell horrible. They are also advertised as a "stick" so I thought it was like the treatment sticks but it is actually a powder. We set them aside for now. On pretreatment lab work, Smitty was already showing mild liver impairment so we are using the SAMe supplement. It's a daily pill and very easy to give along with the oral treatment dose. He is doing well one week in.
Hello, we apologize for not clarifying the shape of the probiotics; we will indicate 'powder form' in the relevant section of the website. Thank you very much for providing us with your genuine treatment evaluation. Regarding the palatability issue of the probiotics, we will submit it to the R&D department to improve the taste of the supplement. We are again grateful for your feedback on our medication.
My cat Smitty is really debilitated so I decided to jump start his treatment with the injectable form. There is a warning the injection stings/burns but it was drastic. Smitty cried out and fell over on his side with open mouth breathing. Honestly I thought I had killed him. Fortunately he was only in distress for a couple of minutes, but it felt like an eternity. For the next day, I gave him SQ fluids and gave the injection into the fluid pocket. No untoward reaction!! I know this technique may affect absorption but he did well for the remaining few doses (5 total).
It was a life saving solution.
Great and effective communication, exceptional kindness and availability of volunteers.
Thanks Max Paw!
